Sweet Chex Mix




2 ½ Sticks of salted butter
1 ½ cups corn syrup
1 ½ cups sugar

Heat to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil three minutes without stirring. Take off heat.
Add 1 tablespoon vanilla

1 small box of Golden Grahams
1 small box of Rice Chex
2 cups slivered almonds
3 cups unsweetened shredded coconut

Mix dry ingredients on large clean work surface. Pour hot mixture over and mix.

Variations:

I like to add 3 cups of small pretzels like the Pepperridge Farms fish pretzels. And take out about 3 cups of cereal. The saltiness of the pretzels cuts the sweetness a little.

Instead of using corn syrup you can use maple syrup. This makes it taste like buttered waffles!
