Bogota

Moises' parents moved to Israel over the past year. This month they took a trip back to Bogota, Colombia to tie up any lose ends, so we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to see them (it's much closer to get to than Israel) and also may be our last trip to Bogota for a very long time.
Asher had a blast spending time with Babi, Zeide and uncle Danny (Danny came to visit as well) despite coming down with a cold and fever halfway through our vacation.

Uncle Danny

One of Zeide and Asher's favorite things to do is feed the ducks and go to the park.

Asher looks like a mini version of his cousin Abie (it's the hair!)

We had lunch at Andres a couple of times. This restaurant is truly one of a kind. There are all sorts of actors, mimes etc wondering around. A true party atmosphere and a must see when visiting Bogota. They serve very typical Colombian dishes as well... and huge portions!

We took Asher to the Hebrew day school for two of the days for a couple of hours to socialize with all the little ones around his age. His eyes lit up when he saw all the cars they had.

Uncle Danny gets a lesson in dressing a toddler

Not bad for his first time... we'll give him a pass!

Moises and Danny came to the conclusion that dressing a toddler must be similar to trying to lasso a cow while tying it's legs.

"Big Boy" Bed Update

Last night we decided we'd try putting him in his bed and he did great! He didn't wake up once in the middle of the night. We'll see how nap time goes... that can be a little trickier with him.

According to Asher, it doesn't get much better than this!

Driving a tractor while sucking on a lollipop (he never gets to eat candy).

Max enjoying his new bed...

...curled up like a little doughnut. Awwww!

One of the joys of living with a toddler...

is finding surprises in random places such as this marble coaster in my purse or the contents of Papi's sock drawer under the bed sheets.

My baby is growing up!

This week while moving Asher's stuff into his new room I started getting a little choked up. He's growing up so fast! It really only seems like last month that we brought him home from the hospital.

So here is his "Big Boy" room with airplanes, one of his favorite things. We still need some finishing touches like some wall art.

Last night was his first night in his new room and slept better than he has in over a month. We put him in his travel crib figuring we'd keep him in it as long as he'll stay just to make the transition as smooth as possible. Well today when he woke from his nap he climbed out and was knocking at his door saying, "knock, knock"! So maybe he'll be making the transition sooner than we thought!

He takes his coloring very seriously...

...working so hard to stay in the lines. I think he has more precision with markers than I had at the age of five!

Jamming to "Pat-A-Cake"

(Don't worry, my mom was the one filming while I was driving!)

I love you Babi!

We loved having Babi spend the week with us. She taught Asher all sorts of new tricks and songs like Humpty Dumpty along with the visual aids (cracking an egg on his head).

30-Week Bump

Belly Ball...

... a new game invented by Asher and Babi.

Yup, definitely a member of our family...

...he's a chocoholic just like his mom and dad!

Annual trip to California

The last week in January we were in California. We spent the first half of our trip in L.A. just enjoying the gorgeous weather and eating at our favorite restaurants.

Asher hiding behind his toy car while saying under his breath, "Are you being shy Asher?" That's one of his new things.
We thought we'd take Asher to the park so he could stretch his legs and make up for being cooped up in the Mid-West all winter long. He ran around like a maniac!

For the latter half, we went up to Palo Alto for one of Moises' annual business trips. While being there, we wandered around the Stanford campus where Moises went to business school.

Como te llamas?
